When you are looking for electric kettles you will quickly notice two new trends: there are way to many brands to choose from and there are way too many technical specifications for something that you were expecting to be a fairly simple machinery. But there is a reason for this. There is such a variety of them out there and every one of them is good at something particular, while it has some less than stellar performance in another.

Best Electric Kettle

The Hamilton Beach 40998 is a fairly impressive electric kettle. At around 20$ it’s one of the best bang for your buck. It is very fast and has the option for cord-free serving. The heating elements are totally concealed ( so no accidental burns with this one) and it also has an auto shut-off. The kettle on the other hand is fairly small (coming in at a 1L capacity). There are also several plastic elements in it, so don’t expect this one to last a lifetime.
Many people do not like AmazonBasics products. But in all honesty this is one solid kettle. It has all the necessary elements of a modern one: cordless serving, concealed heating elements and fast heating. It’s also one of the cheaper options on the market and comes with a solid one year warranty from Amazon. Now, the capacity is still on the low side (1L) and unfortunately, even if it is fairly fast at heating water, it comes in at the lower end of the products that we list. But you will be hard pressed to find a better and cheaper stainless steel electric kettle on the market.
At number eight we find ourselves with yet another Hamilton Beach product, and luckily for us, this one comes in at a considerably larger capacity of 1.7L. Coming in at under 30$, this one comes with all the bells and whistles one would expect from it: cordless serving, concealed heating element, fast heating, and compared to the earlier entry from this manufacturer, far less plastic elements. This one feels far sturdier and the heating speed is roughly the same, even if the capacity had almost doubled. Now there are some reports of overheating, but you can’t have it all, especially at this price.
Cuisinart is a well-known brand and for good reasons. They mostly make reliable products that one can buy without being sceptical. It’s the same with this electric kettle. It’s fast and has cordless serving, but the real good things come with the preset functions. It has six of them for every need imaginable and the blue led backlit water window looks downright futuristic. It’s a bit more expensive (usually retailing at around 70$ new) and the prints might come down with use, but overall this is one of the best high-tech kettle options out there.
It seems that we simply can’t get rid of Hamilton Beach. But how could we, when this 1.7L kettle looks as classy as this one does and has all the technical features that one needs. Oh, and did we mention the sub 30$ price tag? Cord free serving? Check! Fast heating? Check! Concealed heating element and an auto shut-off function? Check and Check! The drawback? It might be a bit hard to fill with water, compared to the other models, but that is something expected when you look at it’s old-school design.
Now I’ll be honest with you. My mother is a huge Secura fan, and for good reason, as this kettle is more than enough to prove their worth. This double walled, stainless steel kettle looks like something that one could use even in thirty years, if they take care of it. It boils water fast, and you can hold it however you want, as this design will emanate very little heat. And the capacity is also perfect if you decide to buy this for family use. It’s a bit bulky and the cord might be considered shorter than required, but for around 30$ this one looks like a far more quality product than what we would expect from this price range.
This kettle is the first Epica product we have tested. And I have to say that the impression is that they nailed it. With six temperature settings and a separate handle that is always touchable (no overheating issue here) this is one of the more complex kettles on the list but arguably one of the easiest to use. Yes, there are plenty of plastic parts on this one, but considering the setting quantity and the two-year warranty, the 35$ price tag starts to look like a real bargain.
Coming in at number three, this electric kettle by Mixpresso Coffee is an amazing choice for you boiling water needs. At a 1.8L capacity, it has the largest capacity from the list. It has the option for cordless serving, fast heating (and we do mean fast heating) and truly drip-free spout. At well under 20$ this one hits at well above its weight. Its one of the sturdiest kettles on this list and one of the cheapest as well. Some might say that it has way to many plastic elements, but all the interior is stainless steel.
There is something unbeatable in looks when it comes to a glass kettle, and this Ovente model is a real looker. Auto shut-off, concealed heating parts and cordless serving are all in the package, but with this model you will also know exactly how much water you have in it (the blue led helps even more). At around 20$, the only thing that you need to take care off is its fragility. Yes, who would have taught that a glass electric kettle can break faster than a stainless steel one?
At 1.2L this electric kettle from Doctor Hetzner is one of the smaller ones on the list, so how did it make it to the number one spot? It has a preset temperature control, it’s among the fastest heaters we have tested, the stainless steel used here is top-notch, cordless serving is arguably the comfiest from all the models and it has a small LCD screen that tells you everything that you need to know about the water temperature and the ETA for it to boil. WHat’s not to like about it? At 60$ apiece, it feels like a steal, when you consider how many gadgets they actually managed to put into this. ANd if something goes bad, you also have a two-year warranty to get it replaced.
As we promised, this is one long list of high-quality electric kettles to choose from. Whichever you go with, you can rest assured that you are getting a good one and one of the best this year has on offer. So we leave you with this list knowing that you can make a well-educated choice by picking any one of them.
